DECEMBER EVENTS: Niagara Falls New Years Concert!

New Year's Festival!
The Niagara Parks Commission and the Niagara Falls New Year's Eve
event partners are pleased to announce this year's New Year's Eve
festivities featuring international rock legends Foreigner , Juno
Award winning Colin James and the Little Big Band and up and coming
Canadian talent Justin Hines to warm up the stage for the evening.
'Party in Niagara' annually features an outdoor licensed area, food
and beverage vendors, and spectacular fireworks over the Falls to
ring in the New Year.
The free New Year's concert in Queen Victoria Park draws approximately
30,000 people each year, with two spectacular fireworks displays
that will take place at 9:00 p.m. and midnight. Live television coverage
will run from 11:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. on CH and CanWest Global affiliate
stations. As always, the presence of security and policing will be
on-site to ensure people's safety throughout the night.

Falls Tower Ride Dismantled - Clifton Hill Redevelopment

Landmark Dismantled
The next time you visit Clifton Hill you'll notice a definite
change in the skyline. The Falls Tower is being dismantled to make
way for a new retail development on Clifton Hill. The tower has
been a mainstay of Clifton Hill since it was built in 1967. The
removal of the tower is a part of Clifton Hill's $100 million
redevelopment plan, which will continue in various stages.
The Falls Tower ride was also known as the Space Spiral Tower in
its
early days. It will definitely be missed by the many people who
had a chance to ride it over the years.
